Google Launches Pixel Watch 2 with Advanced Features and Improvements

In a surprise announcement Google has unveiled the Pixel Watch 2, boasting a series of enhancements compared to its predecessor, the original Pixel Watch.

What’s New?

  • Performance & Design: Google has amped up the performance with an all-new quad-core CPU, promising a smoother user experience. The watch’s housing is now crafted from 100% recycled aluminum, making it 10% lighter. Its design also features a more prominent, flush crown, simplifying access and navigation.
  • Battery: The improved CPU, along with a low-power co-processor, ensures 24-hour battery life, even with the always-on display. Plus, a swift charging capability can boost the battery to 50% in just 30 minutes.
  • Health Features: Pixel Watch 2 offers three new sensors, bringing deeper health insights. Its heart rate sensor, combined with an enhanced AI algorithm, provides unprecedented accuracy, especially during intensive activities. Google has integrated Fitbit’s Body Response feature, which utilizes a new continuous electrodermal activity (cEDA) sensor to detect signs of stress. The skin temperature sensor, active at night, provides insights into sleep and overall wellness.
  • Fitness Tools: The watch now offers Heart Rate Zone Coaching and Pace Training to aid with workout goals. It also features automatic start and stop reminders for seven types of exercises, and retains Fitbit features from the original model.
  • Safety Features: Beyond the fall detection and Emergency SOS features from the original Pixel Watch, the new version introduces proactive safety features, such as Medical ID, Emergency Sharing, and Safety Check. For LTE-enabled users, the Safety Signal feature allows certain functionalities even without a carrier connection.
  • Wear OS 4 & Apps: Pixel Watch 2 exclusively boasts all capabilities of Wear OS 4, offering enhanced customization and usability. The smartwatch also introduces new apps, such as Gmail and Calendar, and enhanced features for existing apps like YouTube Music and Google Maps. Additionally, more downloadable apps are available on Google Play for Wear OS.
  • Connectivity: The Pixel Watch 2 seamlessly syncs with the newly redesigned Fitbit app and other Pixel devices, providing a holistic view of health and wellness metrics. When paired with other Pixel devices, features such as Automatic Call Screener for Dialer will be accessible.
  • Personalization: Users can personalize their Pixel Watch 2 with a choice of six new watch face families and an array of new band accessories suitable for various occasions.

Availability: The Pixel Watch 2 is available for pre-order starting at Mobilissimo starting 399 Euro for the Bluetooth/Wi-Fi version and $449 for the 4G LTE model.

For tech enthusiasts looking for a blend of style, health, and tech in a smartwatch, Google’s Pixel Watch 2 promises to be a game-changer.
