There’s something special that happens when you take tech people out of meeting rooms, away from endless tabs and notifications, and place them around a grill, under the open sky, with burgers in one hand and big ideas in the other.
That’s exactly the spirit behind IT BBQ Fest Brașov 4.0, returning on May 28, starting 5:00 PM, at Coresi Business Campus.
What started as a small community experiment has grown into one of Brașov’s most loved informal tech gatherings, bringing together developers, designers, cybersecurity specialists, banking professionals, entrepreneurs, students, startups, and curious minds for an evening built around community, conversations, and good vibes.
And this year, we’re turning up the heat even more.
Organized by HowAbout.Tech, together with Tremend – Publicis Sapient, Main Partner of the event, alongside Nagarro, Silver Partner, Brașov Cybersecurity Community, AgileHub, and Drool.ro as Community Partners, IT BBQ Fest continues its mission of creating a relaxed space where technology meets people outside traditional conference rooms.
After three editions that gathered over a thousand participants from local and international companies, the 2026 edition promises to be the most energetic one yet.
Under the “Bits and Bites Brașov” spirit, IT BBQ Fest remains a place where conversations happen naturally – sometimes about AI, startups, engineering, burnout, products, cybersecurity or career growth; sometimes simply about life, music, travel, and whether pineapple belongs on pizza.
This year’s edition comes with:
- short and inspiring tech & community talks;
- activations, games, and prizes prepared by partners;
- extra burger & drink tokens;
- networking in a relaxed outdoor setting;
- pet-friendly access for participants bringing their dogs along.
The atmosphere will be completed by street food prepared by Chef Munti and cold drinks offered by Ciucaș.
More than an event, IT BBQ Fest has grown into a community-driven initiative focused on building meaningful local ecosystems and encouraging collaboration between professionals, communities, startups, and companies.

It grew organically through authentic conversations and partnerships that proved a relaxed setting can create real impact. This year, we’re taking the mission further through the launch of ACTS – Asociația Comunități Tech Sustenabile, an NGO created to support local communities, tech initiatives, and startups that need structure, legal support, and visibility to grow. Having partners such as Tremend – Publicis Sapient, Nagarro, and Brașov Cybersecurity Community alongside us confirms there is a real need for initiatives that build ecosystems, not just events.”, said Mirela Neagu-Petrișor, co-founder of HowAbout.Tech.
