A new iPhone SE may be on the horizon, with rumors gaining traction after a leak from known insider Evan Blass. In a social media post, Blass shared what appears to be source code referencing an “iPhone SE (4th Gen),” challenging earlier speculation that the device might be called “iPhone 16E.”
The leak also included an image of the purported device, showcasing a Dynamic Island instead of the traditional notch. The Dynamic Island feature is currently available on higher-end models like the iPhone 14 Pro, all iPhone 15 models, and the rumored iPhone 16 lineup.
Conflicting reports have surrounded the design of the next iPhone SE, with some suggesting it could retain a notch. However, the device is expected to feature a 6.1-inch OLED display, Face ID, a USB-C port, and a single 48-megapixel rear camera. Performance upgrades may include an A-series chip, 8GB of RAM, and Apple’s first in-house 5G modem.
Renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has hinted that the iPhone SE 4 will likely debut in March or April 2025, aligning with previous SE launches. While the current iPhone SE starts at $429, a price increase for the next model seems likely given its upgraded specifications.
The leak also hinted at upcoming iPad Air and entry-level iPad updates, though no major design changes are expected. These devices could be announced alongside the iPhone SE within the same timeframe.
Apple fans will have to wait for official confirmation, but the next iPhone SE appears to be shaping up as a significant upgrade for the budget-friendly lineup.
