Mihaela Lupu, currently serving as the Chief Financial Officer for Central and Eastern Europe (CE&EE) within the UniCredit Group, is set to become the new CEO and President of UniCredit Bank in Romania, commencing her role on October 16, 2023. This appointment has been officially approved by the National Bank of Romania.
With a remarkable career spanning 25 years within UniCredit, Mihaela Lupu’s journey began in August 1998 at HVB Bank Romania S.A. as a Financial Analyst. Her dedication and expertise led her to assume the role of Coordinator of the Financial Control Department in 2004.
In 2007, Mihaela was promoted to the position of Head of the Financial Control Department at UniCredit Țiriac Bank, and in 2010, she became the Director of Planning and Control. Her leadership qualities and accumulated experience in these roles paved the way for her appointment as CFO and a member of the Board of Directors at UniCredit Bank in Romania in 2013. Since 2017, Mihaela Lupu has embraced new challenges within the Group, successively taking on the roles of Head of Group Planning, Capital Management & Strategic ALM and, from 2021 until the present, serving as the CFO for Central and Eastern Europe (CE&EE).
