Reddit has unveiled Reddit Pro Tools for Publishers, a free suite of features designed to help media outlets better track, distribute, and optimize their content across the platform’s more than 110 million daily active users.
The new toolset is centered on three core functions:
- Article insights: Publishers gain access to performance data on stories, including views, upvotes, and engagement metrics.
- RSS feed synchronization: Newsrooms can automatically push stories to Reddit as soon as they are published.
- AI-powered recommendations: Machine learning helps identify the most relevant subreddits for content placement, increasing the likelihood of visibility and traction.
Reddit has been alpha testing the suite with leading news organizations such as The Atlantic, The Hill, NBC News, and The Associated Press. Early results appear promising — The Hill reported that Reddit has become its top source of social referral traffic, surpassing traditional platforms.
In addition to the publishing tools, Reddit is testing an enhanced in-app article reading experience. This new feature allows users to open articles directly within the Reddit app and swipe up to access comments without leaving the platform, streamlining discovery and engagement.
The company announced that the beta waitlist opens today, with broader availability expected globally in 2026. The launch comes as publishers face increasing pressure to diversify referral sources, amid declining traffic from search engines and the rise of AI-driven content aggregation.
With Reddit positioning itself as a serious distribution channel, publishers may find new opportunities to connect with audiences in an era of fragmented traffic ecosystems.
