Meta is integrating WhatsApp into its Accounts Center, allowing users to share WhatsApp status updates on Instagram and Facebook. The feature will roll out globally over several months.

The integration is opt-in. Users who link WhatsApp to the Accounts Center agree to let Meta use their WhatsApp information for personalization and advertising. Meta states it won’t access WhatsApp personal data through other apps except for measuring user numbers, safety features, or optional cross-platform features.

WhatsApp messages will remain end-to-end encrypted. Meta plans to add AI feature management to the Accounts Center, including Meta AI stickers and AI-generated avatars from its Imagine Me feature.
