Google has unveiled its latest flagship smartphone series, the Pixel 9, boasting significant improvements in design, performance, and camera capabilities across multiple models.

The base Pixel 9 features a sleek, pocketable design with rounded corners and a reduced camera bar, making it more aesthetically pleasing than its predecessor. It sports a 6.3-inch OLED display, offering up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The camera system consists of two 50MP cameras, promising excellent photo quality.

At the heart of the Pixel 9 is the new Tensor G4 chipset, promising enhanced AI capabilities and overall performance. The 6.3-inch Actua display offers impressive brightness, reaching up to 2,700 nits, while Gorilla Glass Victus 2 provides improved durability. The device also boasts a 4,700 mAh battery, with Google claiming a 24-hour battery life.

  • The Pixel 9 starts at $800 and will be available from August 22. Pre-orders begin on August 13, and in Romania, customers can pre-order the device from Emag.

For those seeking more advanced features, Google introduces the Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL:

  • The Pixel 9 Pro also has a 6.3-inch screen but ups the ante with three 50MP cameras and the same 4,700 mAh battery as the base model.
  • The Pixel 9 Pro XL boasts a larger 6.8-inch screen and a triple camera system (50MP, 48MP, 48MP) capable of up to 5x optical zoom.

Both Pro models offer up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, with prices starting at $1,000 for the Pro and $1,100 for the Pro XL.

For foldable enthusiasts, Google presents the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, featuring a 6.3-inch external OLED display and an 8-inch internal OLED display. This model will be available from September 4, starting at $1,800.

While specific AI features aren’t detailed, the emphasis on the new chipset’s capabilities suggests significant improvements in this area. The Pixel 9 series will launch with Android 14, with Android 15 expected to arrive later.

This diverse lineup ensures that there’s a Pixel 9 model to suit various preferences and budgets, from the feature-packed base model to the innovative foldable design.
